The church is notable for its 1962 east window TQ3182 : St. Mark's Church, Myddelton Square, EC1 - east window. Below the conventional scenes of the Ascension are three panels (two of them shown here) depicting the building of the New River - the church architect's principal legacy.
St Mark's Church, Clerkenwell

An Anglican parish church, built in 1827 by William Chadwell Mylne. He was surveyor to the New River Company who donated the land for the church and square. It is early Victorian Gothic style in brick with stone dressings and a stone west end. After WW2 it was reconstructed with an unusual acoustic ceiling supported by plain metal columns. The other notable feature is the stained glass East window by Goddard and Gibbs (1962) showing the Ascension, and incorporating scenes of the New River.

The church is now grade 2 listed (list entry number 1298025). A full history can be found on the parish's website LinkExternal link
