County Buildings, Ayr
County Buildings, Ayr
The County Buildings were built in the early 1930s in classical style on a site formerly occupied by the town's gaol. They are still the home of the local authority, currently South Ayrshire Council. The Buildings face the sea, overlooking gardens and open space. The statue commemorating the men of the local infantry regiment who died in the Second World War occupies a central location in front of the Buildings. See NS3321 : Royal Scots Fusiliers Memorial for a closer look.
