White Cross, Sale Fell
Painted on the rocks of a small disused quarry on the north flank of Sale Fell. The cross was noted by Wainwright in his 1964 guide though he was unaware of its origin. The cross sits between the nearby St. Margaret's Church and the old vicarage. Perhaps the work of a cleric on his way to work one day?
