The ridge of A'Chioch
The ridge of A'Chioch
This is the finest route to the top of Ben More but I had been wary of using it until I reached the 867m top of the subsidiary peak and could see the final approach. The sun has melted off the ice and snow on the southerly side of the narrow ridge and so I had no need to use my ice axe or crampons. Winter still has the north face of the 'Big Hill' in its grip. Ali did not fancy the challenge and used the 'tourist route' up from Dhiseig - she met me as I pulled over the final rock step right under the summit cairn!
