Harwood Beck
From the track on Spitley Tongue, one has a fine view down the valley of Harwood Beck, one of the high tributaries of the River Tees. This beck is of particular interest to canoeists, not so much for its sport as a paddling venue (it's a bit of a spate ditch with not much gradient) but because there is a gauging weir downstream whose level is available online, so it provides early indication of upcoming water levels on bigger and more exciting streams in the area.
