Croft's Lane, Horsley
Croft's Lane is named after Croft's Well which is further down the lane on the left. Croft is a medieval term for a small enclosed field or pasture near a house. The Hospital of Saint Michael was situated in the vicinity of the current water treatment works south of Croft Lane, during the medieval period.
