SU1242 : Stonehenge: the Heel Stone

taken 11 years ago, near to Larkhill, Wiltshire, England

Stonehenge: the Heel Stone
Stonehenge: the Heel Stone
The Heel Stone stands just to the northwest of the main Stonehenge monument (we can see the shadows of people on the path around Stonehenge), standing 16 feet high. The A344 runs right alongside, a situation which will soon change as the road layout is to be redesigned and this part of the road will be closed and grassed over in the next year or so.
