Geograph - photograph every grid square

The day had been quite sunny - by the dismal standard of March 2013 - but then dark clouds came into view over the higher ground to the north-east. It looked to me as if precipitation was coming down over Highgate and Hampstead - and it was clear that Osterley's turn was soon to come. Given the chilly conditions, I was left wondering whether we'd get heavy rain, sleet or snow.

A minute or two after I took this photo a squall blew up, and hailstones were whipping across, more or less horizontally. People ran for the shelter of their cars. I didn't have that option, so sheltered in the lee of a large tree. After a few minutes conditions eased, so I pulled my hat and my hood down over my forehead, and made my way back to Wyke Green.
