Beaumaris Pier
The pier at Beaumaris was designed by Frederick Foster and opened in 1846, the intention being to attract pleasure steamers to the town. After the Second World War it deteriorated and in the 1960s there was a proposal to demolish it; in the event, however, it was restored and has been refurbished again in 2011 by Anglesey County Council. Behind the pier is Beaumaris Lifeboat Station (complete with RNLI flag), which covers the Menai area.
