The B6353 continues westward from here, while the B6525 heads south to Wooler. This is not pleasant walking - the footpath which linked Lowick to Barmoor Lane End has gone, and visibility is not good on this right-angled bend, where traffic is very fast - I spent about ten minutes on this verge with my ears pricked 'til I found it quiet enough to risk stepping onto the road to turn right for Ford.
