Toby's Walks is an area of heathland situated beside the A12 road just south of Blythburgh. The area is named after a soldier called Tobias Gill who set up camp in Blythburgh. One evening he was seen wandering over the heathland in a drunken state. He is believed to have met a young woman named Ann Blakemore, who was found dead the next morning. Toby was arrested for her murder and hanged. His ghost is believed to still be walking over the heath, which is larger than it appears to be at first glance and traversed by many narrow paths. There is also a route for wheelchair users.
