Fell ponies above Kentmere
Fell ponies above Kentmere
On the eastern extent of Hollow Moor I came across a small herd (about half a dozen mares) of these semi-wild ponies. These two are a very dark brown, almost black, but there was a chestnut-coloured pony plus a couple of white ones. They will probably give birth to foals fairly soon. Beyond them rise the rugged eastern faces of Yoke, Ill Bell and Froswick above the upper reaches of Kentmere.
