Ruins of Carman Cottage: the entrance
See NS3779 : Ruins of Carman Cottage for the main description. The present picture was taken from inside the ruin, and shows the centre of the eastern side-wall. The gap placed centrally in the foreground shows where the front door was located.

In the present picture, the distant River Clyde can be seen in the central part of the background, with the dark shape of NS4274 : Dumbuck Quarry just left of centre. NS4376 : The Long Crags, the escarpment of the Kilpatrick Hills are at the far left.
In the middle distance, a line of trees in and beside the Poachy Glen takes up most of the width of the picture.

Carman Cottage
Possibly an eighteenth-century building. It was inhabited into the twentieth century, but is now a ruin. See Link (in a Geograph article) for more information.
