SP1866 : Lock and Bridge south of Lowsonford, Warwickshire
taken 12 years ago, near to Lowsonford, Warwickshire, England
Lock and Bridge south of Lowsonford, Warwickshire
Lock No 33. The rather ugly new ladders are widely replacing the original rather basic structures provided to allow boatmen to climb off the boat when it had entered the lock from the south-west. The towpath changes from the left to the right of the canal over the bridge ahead (No 44).
The lock allows a six foot (1·8 metres) fall or rise in water level.
