Stobars Hall near Kirkby Stephen is set in fourteen acres of woodland and gardens and overlooking the Eden Valley. It is now operated as a private care home for the elderly and infirm with 31 bedrooms. The building has date stones inscribed 1695 and 1866 although the current building was started in 1829 by William Close (1803-1863). It is a Grade II Listed Building Link
