A fine early Georgian house with exuberant brickwork - grey with red trim - and ornate carving in the pediment. It was built in 1719-20, for Edward Clarke, to the designs of Thomas Strong, and altered c1831 for Robert Vernon (including the pediment carving). Grade II* listed.
The house is periodically open to the public, and in common with many other country houses it now markets itself as a venue for corporate events, weddings, and other functions.
