The sculpture is made up of thousands of small rectangular pieces of galvanised steel, welded together. Sculptor Andy Scott uses this technique to great effect in many of his works.
The Rise at Glasgow Harbour
The Rise is a six-metre high sculpture featuring the head and body of a woman with propeller-like arms. It is said to symbolise modernity rising from the city's maritime past. By local artist Andy Scott Link
