NZ0863 : St. Mary's Church, Ovingham

No. lxi of the ECCLESIOLOGIST [ see http://wapedia.mobi/en/Cambridge_Camden_Society#3. ] quoted in Murray's Handbook (1890) describes St Mary's thus:
A well proportioned cruciform Early English building, with a low square tower built of large stones and possibly Saxon. The building has several architectural peculiarities; the east end has a very lofty triplet; the east walls of the transept an equal quadruplet; and each end of the transepts a couplet. The circular pillars have octagonal capitals, and the buttresses, above the string-course, turn into semi-octagonal pilasters.
