Tudor armorial devices - King's College Chapel
These heraldic carvings are the armorial devices of the House of Tudor - Portcullis (badge of the Beaufort family, Lady Margaret Beaufort being the mother of King Henry VII), greyhound (another Beaufort symbol), Tudor rose (incorporating the rose from both the House of Lancaster and the House of York, Henry VII having married Elizabeth of York), the Royal Coat of Arms of England, the Fleur de Lys (English Kings being also Kings of France from the time of Edward III) and the Dragon of Cadwallader representing the Tudor family of Henry VII's father. Information from Chapel guidebook.
King's College Chapel

King's College Chapel is the chapel to King's College of the University of Cambridge, and is one of the finest examples of late Gothic (Perpendicular) English architecture.
