Thundercliffe Grange, Ecclesfield
A fine stone house built c1776-83 to the designs of John Platt for the Earl of Effingham. The top storey, added c1832, overwhelms the pediment. Grade II listed.
Having been left in a poor state after a hospital moved out in the late 1970s, it was bought by a group of people who formed a co-operative, restored the house and converted it into flats for themselves.
