The large bridge crossing the Afon Taf Fawr carries the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road.

Cefn Coed Viaduct :: SO0307
This viaduct was build in 1866 the carry the Brecon and Merthyr railway over the Afon Taf Fawr.
It is of architectural interest in that it was built curved in order to avoid land belonging to the local iron master, Robert Crawshay.
The 15 arches have a length of 725ft and a maximum height of 115ft.
The last train crossed it in 1964 and it now part of the Taff Trail long distance path and National Cycle Route 8.
It is a Grade 2* listed structure.
