Moorgate station: replica Metropolitan Railway sign
Moorgate station: replica Metropolitan Railway sign
In 2013 the London Underground celebrated its 150th birthday (a display being visible on the rear wall here). Presumably as part of this, two (and only two) of the large platform signs at Moorgate, normally showing the station name below a large roundel, has been replaced by this replica Metropolitan Railway sign, showing the logo based on a diamond which the Met used during the years when it was still independent from London Underground and trying to get across a visual identity to compete with the great design of the Underground under Frank Pick.
