Silvermede Reserve
Grazing marsh next to the River Lee, just south of Broxbourne. The marshes are criss-crossed by ditches lined with aquatic plants and with colonies of water voles. The grassland is grazed by cattle in summer and is rich in wild flowers, including common fleabane, meadowsweet and black knapweed, and patrolled by dragonflies and other insects.
