The Cottage (formerly Christ's College)
After the 1843 Disruption, the Free Church rapidly established its own theological training colleges. This extravagant (excessive?) gothic/Tudor building was erected in 1850 at the cost of £2025 by the Aberdeen Free Presbytery to serve the whole of northern Scotland and the Isles. The huge oriel window once commanded a fine view down Union Street but later buildings have encroached upon it. It is now a bar. B-listed: LinkExternal link
