St Peter's Cross
St Peter's Cross
This Portland stone cross by L C Howitt stands in St Peter's Square, behind Manchester Cenotaph. It was erected to commemorate the fact that St. Peter's Church once stood nearby. The church opened in 1788, and was demolished in 1907. Access to the cross and the cenotaph is limited by work on the construction of office building One St Peter Square on the right.
