Black bridge, Bridgwater
The telescopic, or Black, bridge crossing the River Parrett at Bridgwater. This formerly carried a railway line, and could be drawn back to the right to allow shipping to go up the river to Bridgwater docks.
Bridgwater once had a substantial brick and tile manufacturing industry, and one of the factories appears behind the bridge.
