The River Caldew joins the River Eden
The River Caldew joins the River Eden
The River Eden is just seen in the centre of this picture, and flows from right to left. The River Caldew joins it there, and this photo is taken from the bridge where the Hadrian's Wall Path crosses it.
The River Caldew rises in the northern Lake District hills, in that splendid region "back o' Skiddaw" which has been described as "worth all England else", from where it flows generally north to Carlisle.
