Father Thames, at Thames Head
Father Thames, at Thames Head
This statue of Father Thames was located by the source of the Thames when this picture was taken, and looked somewhat battered.
It was created by Raffaelle Monti for the grounds of the Crystal Palace in 1854. It was moved to Thames Head in about 1936, and then in 1974 moved to its present location at St. John's lock on the Thames near Lechlade.
