Interior of World War 2 ' Pillbox' defence emplacement
Taken with flash this is an interior shot of a 'pillbox' like construction from World War 2. Its exact purpose is not known. It was well hidden in undergrowth at Galley Hill, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex. [see two other images Link Link in this connection]. It is quite probable that this is the 'Galley Hill O.P.[Observation Post]' mentioned many times by the late, great Spike Milligan in the first part of his wartime memoir 'Hitler: My Part In His Downfall'. Milligan was based nearby, and often manned the O.P.
