Municipal Buildings
This is the western side, on Sinclair Street. See NS2982 : Municipal buildings for the southern side. In the present view, the words "Police Office" are carved above one entrance, and "Entrance to Court Hall" above another.

The buildings are by John Honeyman, with later extensions by A N Paterson.

A carved cat can be seen above the drainhead on the right. For the text carved further to the right, but a little lower down, see NS2982 : Municipal Buildings (detail).
