taken 11 years ago, near to Longhoughton, Northumberland, England

The village has a long history, but it has grown rapidly and not especially attractively with new housing to the north, much of it related to nearby RAF Boulmer. The object on the left looks like the remains of a market cross, but the original market cross is now in the church. This is now a modern sculpture, erected in 2004.
