NT2673 : Path between 'tails', Scottish Parliament landscape

taken 11 years ago, near to Edinburgh, Scotland

Path between 'tails', Scottish Parliament landscape
Path between 'tails', Scottish Parliament landscape
South-southeast of the Parliament buildings, on an area of former recreational land, the designers have created a public open space that seems also to be a stylized, conceptual representation of the land of Scotland. The landscape creates a setting for the distinctive buildings. On either side of three paths are the 'tails', perhaps a formalisation of the crag-and-tail topography on which Edinburgh's Old Town is built. The landscape is explained, up to a point, in NT2673 : Interpreting the landscape, Scottish Parliament, Pàrlamaid na h-Alba.
