NT2673 : Close-mown grass, Scottish Parliament landscape

taken 6 years ago, near to Edinburgh, Great Britain

Close-mown grass, Scottish Parliament landscape
Close-mown grass, Scottish Parliament landscape
South-southeast of the Parliament buildings, on an area of former recreational land, the designers have created a public open space that seems also to be a stylized, conceptual representation of the land of Scotland. The landscape creates a setting for the distinctive buildings. The landscape is explained, up to a point, in NT2673 : Interpreting the landscape, Scottish Parliament, Pàrlamaid na h-Alba. This is Zone 2, close-mown grass at low level for informal recreation and events: the Central Belt?
