Arthur's Seat

Arthur's Seat is the highest peak in a set of hills in Holyrood Park. It rises to 251m (823ft) and gives panoramic views over the city of Edinburgh. it is most easily climbed from the east.
Geologically the hill is the remnant of a 350 million year old volcano and is associated with the nearby Salisbury Crags and Edinburgh Castle Rock.
