Horrid Hill
Horrid Hill is an island which from 1890 to 1910 housed a small cement works, with a causeway built to connect it to the mainland as the route of a horse drawn railway for carrying chalk to the works. The name Horrid Hill refers to the fact that in mid winter it wasn't the most pleasant of places to work.
In the background is Thamesport on the Isle of Grain, with the chimney of the Grain Power Station behind it, and an LNG carrier moored at the Grain LNG facility.
