Old West Kirk
Old West Kirk
On Campbell Street at the Esplanade. The church was moved here from a site about one mile east in 1926, under the guidance of architect James Miller LinkExternal link . The original building dates back 1591 and was funded by Johhne Schaw, it stood near where the Gala Bingo Hall now stands. The Old West Kirk was the last Church built under charter of James VI before he became James I of England.

February 2013 update: The future of the building is uncertain following the decision by Lyle Kirk members to concentrate services at their nearby Union Street and Newark Street churches.
