Berwick Pond adjoins Berwick Woods, the western section (seen here) has public access, the eastern section is privately owned.

Berwick Woods is a former gravel and sand extraction site that has been restored by the gravel company, Tarmac. Many of the voids left by the quarrying have been filled by waste and earth extracted from Rainham Marshes as part of the construction of the A13.

To the south is Berwick Pond, and to the west the Ingrebourne River. Part of the site is in the Ingrebourne Marshes SSSI.

There are links via footpaths to the Ingrebourne Valley Nature Reserve and Hornchurch Country Park.
