The upper Doethie valley is always a beautiful sight in fine summer weather, though it can be very hot as it was on this day. The road from Llanddewi-Brefi went to Abergwesyn. The route from here to Soar-y-Mynydd is passable with four wheel drive vehicles, so several parts are being ruined by erosion from the "off-road" convoys. Fewer sheep graze here than formerly, and a few Welsh Black cattle are occasionally seen earning their subsidy for the land.
