The Sunderland International Airshow is an annual event (2013 being the shows 25 anniversary) which takes place on the seafront between Seaburn and Roker. The Airshow normally takes place on the last weekend of July each year and is organised by Sunderland City Council. The airshow is regarded as one of the largest free airshows in Europe and features attractions on the ground as well as in the air.
The flying displays feature a variety of aircraft, including fixed wing craft and helicopters. Regular attendees include modern military aircraft, historic aircraft and aerobatic display teams. Attractions on the ground include displays from the RAF, Navy and Army, amusement stalls, catering outlets and promotional stands.
