Drax Power Station
Drax Power Station
Seen across the rail lines that bring coal and biomass and take away gypsum. The coal stockpile is beyond with a bucket wheel machine to the right of the tall (850') main boiler chimney. The short chimney is for the auxiliary open cycle gas turbines. The two big light buff buildings are the flue gas desulphurisation plant and the huge flue ducts can also be seen. Part of 4 of the 12 cooling towers can be seen. They are in two groups of 6 to the north and south of the main power station buildings.
