For the last 25 years there have been a series of popular music concerts each summer at The July Course in Newmarket. The concerts are known as Newmarket Nights and a preceded by a full flat race meeting. For many revellers consuming vast amounts of alcohol and watching the concert takes priority over the horse racing. See Link
