Te Deum Window, St Mary's Church
Saints John the Baptist, Edward the Confessor, Stephen, George, King David, Saints Barnabas, Paul and Augustine, worship Christ in Majesty in the "Te Deum" window in the south aisle. It was made in 1908 and commemorates Rev RCM Rous (rector 1870-87), his father and grandfather.

Inscription at the bottom reads:
"WE PRAISE THEE O GOD WE ACKNOWLEDGE THEE TO BE THE LORD" which is from the early Christian hymn "Te Deum laudamus te Dominum confitemur"

St Mary's Parish Church, Woodbridge

The present church, dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, dates from the beginning of the fifteenth century but The Domesday Book records in that in "Wodebryge" there was "A church with 19 acres valued at 2 shillings". The indications are that this was a Saxon church, built probably at the close of the tenth century, so that there has been a church on this site for nearly a thousand years.
