St. Mary's Church, Stansted Mountfitchet
St. Mary's is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It was the original parish church in the grounds of Stansted Hall. When the railway arrived the centre of population moved and the newer St. John's was built and is now the main church. Note the unusual brick tower built in 1692.
