Agricultural restoration
Nothing here to show that this was once an ironstone quarry. This was Stroxton or No.7 pit of the Harlaxton Quarries. It was the last of the pits to be opened and operated for just 4 years. It was backfilled after closure with suitably inert waste to allow agriculture to be resumed.
