Cannington Viaduct
The viaduct is 203 yards long and 92 feet high. It was one of the first large structures to be built from concrete. The arch on the left of the viaduct was reinforced with a supporting brick inner arch as, during construction the west abutment and adjacent pier slipped and the adjacent pier settled on its foundations and as well as the reinforcements you can see a significant drop in the line of the viaduct on the left side. Despite this the structure settled and was opened to traffic as planned.
