SK2272 : An Eyre of Importance (6)

taken 7 years ago, near to Hassop, Derbyshire, Great Britain

An Eyre of Importance (6)
An Eyre of Importance (6)
Road from Hassop Hall to the B6001
The name's the same....and that's all!
I think it was Billy Bunter who was always alluding to (non-existent) "titled relations". Hassop and the surrounding countryside was once the stamping ground of a rich family called Eyre, who even went so far as to make a claim to be the Earls of Newburgh LinkExternal link Now tracing the family tree has never really been my bag but I can tell you no-one in my branch has ever owned more than a modest semi!
