Born in 1870 at Bramley, Surrey LinkExternal link Herbert Mayow Fisher-Rowe was the son of Edward Rowe Fisher-Rowe. He was educated at Eton LinkExternal link and entered the Grenadier Guards in 1887 LinkExternal link He was ADC to the Governor of Bermuda LinkExternal link from 1892 to 1894. He married Maud, daughter of Alfred Seymour at Hollybrook, Southampton on 15 November 1901 LinkExternal link they had one son and one daughter. He served in South Africa during the Second Boer War LinkExternal link and was mentioned in despatches LinkExternal link by the regiment LinkExternal link he raised.
