Wheelchair-safe fishing pegs, Kingfisher Pool, Myton Fields
Kingfisher Pool was created from a floodmeadow to provide a fishing lake for young and disabled people. It is V-shaped pool, the central tongue providing many more fishing pegs. The pegs are of in-situ concrete with an upstanding edge or kerb of railway sleepers. The pool is managed by a junior angling club within the Myton Fields public open space. There is a popular perimeter path and a well-used cycleway passes nearby: families are gathering there for a chat on a late spring evening.
