NZ2870 : Killingworth Bank

Killingworth Bank
Killingworth Bank
Also known as Killingworth Road, this incline down from Killingworth Village to
the Clousden Hill junction with Great Lime Road, is known to all locals as 'Killie Bank'. To anyone like myself, who had a childhood in the 1940s or earlier, Killie Bank was the local equivalent to 'The Cresta Run' and was famous for sledging. Traffic these days unfortunately precludes such wonderful and enjoyable activities, although this photograph may suggest otherwise.
