Gas Street Canal Basin, Birmingham
A northward glance across the "Worcester Bar" at the Gas Street canal basin. The skyscraper is the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Broad Street. This is 75 metres (246ft) tall, with 24 floors. In November 2002 the hotel was sold to London Plaza Hotels for £27.5 million, with Hyatt Regency Birmingham Ltd., continuing to operate it. The BT Tower (formerly The Post Office Tower and, before that, the GPO Tower) stands to its right, afar off.
